A prairie hideaway made for slow mornings, big skies, and memories that linger
Tucked into a working flower and hay farm, Hayloft Hideaway is a quiet escape on the edge of Alberta's Lakeland region.
Designed for couples, families, and anyone craving a slower pace, this one-of-a-kind farm stay combines open prairie views, flower fields, campfires, and the simple comforts of rural life.
Tell me about the cabin
The cabin is 20x20, simple and cozy with:
a small covered deck
a private fire pit
a galvanized shower, bathtub and toilet
big prairie views in every direction
It’s quaint, a little unexpected, and intentionally simple.
If something feels minimal, it probably is, on purpose.

A love letter to the prairies
The Hayloft Hideaway was created for people who want to slow down, spend time outdoors, and experience a different pace of life.
Spend your evenings around the fire pit, wander the flower fields in bloom, watch storms roll across the hay fields, or simply enjoy the quiet from the deck.
The experience is intentionally simple.
Golden light stretches across the fields.
The hum of bees in the flowers.
Fresh-picked strawberries still warm from the sun.
Built between hay seasons
The Hayloft Hideaway is part of Toews & Bale, a first-generation family farm in northern Alberta.
What started with hay fields and flower fields has gradually grown into a bigger vision for the farm: creating a place where people can experience the beauty of rural life firsthand.
We're building this project the same way we farm, season by season, one step at a time.
Between haying, flower harvests, family life, and everything else that comes with running a farm, Hayloft Hideaway is slowly taking shape.
And we're excited to share it with you.

Cell service is generally available, though it can be a little spotty depending on your provider and where you’re standing.

Yes. The cabin is heated to keep things comfortable during cooler evenings and shoulder-season stays.
-
For now, Hayloft Hideaway is a seasonal stay, open during the warmer months.
We’re letting the land (and our capacity) guide how this grows over time.
-
We’ve kept things simple, so a little preparation goes a long way.
We recommend bringing:
weather-appropriate clothing (layers are your friend out here)
sturdy footwear for walking the property
any personal snacks or drinks you love
bug spray (you’ll thank yourself)
a flashlight or headlamp for late evenings
We’ll have a few treats waiting for you—but this isn’t a fully stocked kitchen experience (yet).
-
At this time, we’re keeping the space pet-free.
There are already plenty of animals calling this place home, and we want to keep things calm and predictable for everyone.
-
We’re about a short drive from nearby small towns for essentials, groceries, and fuel.
You’ll feel tucked away—but not too far removed if you need something.
(We’ll send exact directions and recommendations after booking.)
-
Yes. Parking is available right at the cabin for easy access.

A few things to keep in mind:
